A Second Attempt at Blogging

Three years later, three years of marriage, a move from San Luis Obispo to the East Bay. A move from the East Bay to Modesto. An eight month stay at the Hollingsworth Hilton leading to a home purchase and four months of renovations. I guess we know why the blogging came to a screeching halt.

This blog started as my (Katie's) "new" hobby shortly after our marriage on June 20, 2009. This blog was created to share our lives with the ones we love.  Unfortunately, time passed faster and our "To Do" list got longer.     It is now time however to start blogging again so you can share the Walsh Family adventures through our photos as we become a family of three.

In January of 2012 we welcomed the news that  Little Baby Walsh would (will) be joining us on September 18th, 2012.

So back to blogging...

Katie's 10K, Welcome to a runners world!

There is probably no better way to kick of the fall then with some running. Katie was asked by a friend to take her place in a 10K relay marathon after an injury. Katie didn't take anytime thinking about it and in less than ten weeks she would be running a 10K. Now if any of you know Katie, she is not a runner, not meant to be a runner, and ten weeks later she is officially a runner and addicted to it. So the results are in...6.5 miles in 66 minutes. The next race is a 5K Turkey Trot. Did we mention we got lost on our way to Fresno, at least we found some nice scenery.

Happy 25th Katie & Happy Halloween

Happy 25th Birthday Ms. Katie its all uphill from here. We started the celebration on Thursday night with the arrival of the Creeggan girls and their lovely boyfriends. On Friday Kelly and Katie spent the entire day out and about downtown, while the men worked. Friday night we were joined by Stephanie and headed to happy hour at the Cliff's Resort for some good laughs before we got the munchies and headed downtown SLO for some burgers. The birthday celebrations were complete and now it was time to start the Halloween festivities. Halloween gave us one more thing to celebrate. We watched Saturday college football and finalized the costume details before we all headed to our dressing rooms. Drum roll please...Kelly and Mark as "The Peckers" AKA chickens, Stephanie as a 70's "You Go Go Girl", Hillary and Zack as "Pam and Jim's Wedding Day", Evan and Neal as "The Dude" and "Walter", Matt and Katie as "The Bounty Hunters", yes Dog and Beth took home the grand prize for best costume. We headed out for some costume bowling and our next stop was the Pizza Parlor where our costumes drew many laughs. We wrapped up the night by cutting a rug at the Old Murray House!
Saying goodbye to twenty FOUR...

The Biannual Glenbrook Trip 09/24/2009

The Hollingsworth and Creeggan families have traveled to Glenbrook on Lake Tahoe every other year for a very long time. This year the boys including my hubby and dad had to be left behind and it was a girls weekend...yes Bill will be considered a girl for this posting. We had a wonderful time. We drank Sangria non-stop and will confess to having Sangria withdrawls. We never missed a sunset and all enjoyed at least one sunburn. The weather was incredible, the dance parties were unstoppable and the non-stop laughing has my belly hurting still. Thanks again to all of you for another amazing trip.

Our Honeymoon Adventures 06/21 - 07/14/2009

Our Honeymoon was our first adventure as a married couple. Now we could have started out like most other couples, traveled to Hawaii and had a relaxing get away, but instead we decided to test our marriage in the first three weeks. I am happy to share that we are still married. Our adventure started on a long plane ride, but first class upgrades for being newlyweds gave us something worth calling home about. We landed in Rome and the backpacking began. We headed around Europe to Florence, Cinque Terre, Interlaken, Munich and ended in the romantic city of Paris. We celebrated in every city with a glass of champagne and ate our way through Florence (by ate I mean too much Gelato). We hiked our way through the Alps (through the rain and sun) and learned what real beer was in Munich. We walked blisters on our feet through the Florence leather market and could not get enough of the Academia, so inspirational. It was a great way to start our future together, we survived and now we are submitting our application to Amazing Race. Just kidding. I hope you enjoy our photographic memories, as much as we enjoyed making them.

Our Wedding 06/20/2009

We began our lives together over four years ago. Our wedding day (June 20, 2009)however was the door to a new advneture. Marriage. It was absolutely amazing...the day could not have been more perfect. It was 80 degrees, high clouds and our wedding was located on the most beautiful walnut orchard in Hughson, CA. We wrote our own vows which truly made the day even more special. The Hollingsworth Family, Walsh Family and all of our friends who poored their heart and souls in to making our day perfect and we thank them for that. Thanks to an inspiring photograph Aaron Draper for capturing each moment.
